It felt as if the blades of grass were cutting through my feet. The strong winds pulled my hair along the deep blue sky which was spotted with small clouds. Below me lay a vast pool of water that stretched as far as my eyes could see. I feared of what be down there, but I had to make a decision. Either to jump and possibly survive, or to stay and spend a whole life caged like an animal.
I backed away from the edge of the cliff, taking deep breaths. Behind me I heard voices that were becoming louder every second that I stood on the precipice. I shut my eyes, imagining what it would be like to be free from the horror that enveloped my thoughts at the moment. I knew that if I did not take the leap, I would never see the sunlight again.
  I ran to the edge…and jumped.
In those few seconds, I was flying, and every doubt I had previously was swept away.
But nothing lasts forever; my feet eventually had to hit the water.
